Palacios Community Medical Center

We are Pleased to announce that construction of our new clinic will begin the week of October 10, 2016 and take approximately 6 months to complete!!!!
Our hospital accepts most insurance, but also offers Medicaid screening and other programs for our uninsured and underinsured patients. In addition to these services, we also assist patients with applying for food stamps, Children's Health Insurance Program, Medical Assistance Program and financial assistance.
Palacios Community Medical Center (PCMC) is a community-owned hospital. The hospital first opened in 1961 as Wagner General Hospital. It was renamed Palacios Community Medical Center in 2002. The Board of Directors of both the Foundation and the Hospital are from Palacios and the surrounding area. The Hospital is a 17-bed Critical Access Hospital with Outpatient/Inpatient Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Social Services, Sleep Studies, and In-House Pharmacy. It also offers 24-hour Emergency Room Services.
Dr. Eugene Hernandez, MD is a board certified Pathologist, licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas. He is originally from Columbia, where he graduated medical school at the University of Antiquia and began his internship at University Hospital Medellin. He completed his internship at Elyria Methodist Hospital, Ohio and his residency in Illinois.
 Dr. Hernandez is also a Veteran having served in the United States Navy.
After a few years of practicing in the Pathology field, he began his Clinic career in South Texas, having also been in private practice.
Dr. Hernandez brings a great amount of knowledge and caring to the members of our community!
